Ode to my APs

I am very blessed to have a really incredible group of friends.  Its interesting to me how I seem to have a wonderful friend (or group of friends) who represent every part of my past.  This afternoon, I'll be heading to Austin, Tx to celebrate a wedding with one such group.

We call ourselves The APs, the Aggie Players.  We are a strange group of friends who all found our way into each others lives through theater at Texas A&M University.  Each of us brings different talents and personalities to the group which means there is NEVER a dull moment, NEVER a lack of smiles, and ALWAYS someone who understands what you are going through.

I have not known a group of friends who are all so supportive of each other even though we only are all able to gather once or twice a year.  I didn't think I'd be able to attend this wedding but because of a series of events, I get to spend the weekend with some of my dearest friends.  Such a blessing!!

I found this on pinterest, and I must say, this is a pretty great photographic representation of our group.
We don't make sense, but we are so cute, it does not matter!

Whats making me happy this week(end)

These are a few of my recent "Pinterest" finds that are making me super happy this week!

I am planning a trip to Texas in the next few weeks and this saying along with the graphics of it just make me smile from ear to ear.  I am a tiny bit...well, to be honest, very...obsessed with all things Texas related and this is just the tip of the iceberg.  You can take the girl out of Texas but you can't take the Texas out of the girl!!

Since finishing grad school, I have found that I have gone through plans A, B, C, D, and beyond. I'm in yet another transition period in my life/career, so this is just a nice reminder that there is always a next letter to try out.

Some sort of very annoying sickness has infected my body, specifically my throat, this weekend.  I expected to have a low key weekend except for attending the opening night of a show I did the costume design for, but that didn't even happen.  These popsicles are made with capri sun and fruit.  My very irritated throat thinks that these look incredible.  Best medicine ever.

After about 5 months in storage, I finally was able to get my desk into my house!  I am using it as my Discotoes work space in a spare bedroom and I love the space that I have.  Unfortunately, that is the only piece of furniture in the office so everything else is littering the floor against the walls.  Because of the arrangement of the room, I am interested in having my desk "float" near the middle of the room and this little skirt idea would make it much more attractive!  The other fantastic thing about this skirt is that I could pick out some really fantastic fabrics to brighten up/distract from the unfortunate light pink walls that are currently in the room (and unpaintable because of rent restrictions).

Pinterest has become my therapy lately.  I go there when I'm bummed about job hunting.  When I need a pick me up.  Its like window shopping, a trip to the mall, and an afternoon in Hobby Lobby/Michael's all from the comfort of your computer.  It is inspiring and gets me into my little office and I just create.  It is my brain so I don't have to remember what I saw on so and so's blog and my filing cabinet so I don't have to remember where I put it.

Its whats making me happy this week(end).

What about you?
